We are Rowland and Folake Henshaw. Married since September 1989 and blessed with 3 wonderful and precious children – 2 young adults and 1 teenager.
We head up One Flesh International (OFI) and are Pastors of Word of Life Church, an Elim Pentecostal Church situated in Grove Park, London. We are Group leaders, a coaching couple and members of the UK board of trustees of 2 = 1 ministries (an international ministry ministering to marriages, parents and families around the world).
We have a passion to see the Great Commission in Matthew 28 being fulfilled by seeing souls won for Jesus, God’s kingdom being populated and true disciples being made. We want to see every Christian thoroughly discipled, living a victorious life and going on to make disciples themselves. We believe in the power of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to save, heal, deliver and restore.
We have a strong desire to see single people discover their God ordained purpose, make right choices in their singleness as well as in choosing godly life partners. We have a passion to see godly and happy marriages, reflecting God’s original plan for marriage and enjoying peaceful homes. We want to see parents including single parent families, equipped to parent after God’s heart, raising and training their children His way.
Our hearts yearn to see the elderly not relegated to the background, but recognised for the wealth of experience and wisdom that they can offer, and in their old age well looked after. We also have a heart and a passion for the poor, to care for and help them out of poverty.
We have been in Christian ministry and service for over 30 years and were called to the office of Pastors in 1995. Rowland is an alumni of the International Bible Institute of London (IBIOL) and was ordained as an Elim Minister in 2005. We have attended and been trained in pre-marital, marriage and parenting courses over the years and have also both completed an Introduction to Biblical/ Christian Counselling course.
Over the last 20 years we have actively been involved in conducting pre-marital, marriage enhancing and parenting courses for hundreds of people. We have and continue to mentor individuals, and provide one on one counselling to singles, married couples, parents. We are conference and seminar speakers who minister at conferences and in churches with the aim of resourcing single people, married couples, parents and families of all kinds.
